Now I love you guys.  LJ is pretty nice and all and I'm not going to stop posting here and don't get me wrong.  Just wanted to let you guys know for all my other doll and cosplay related info I'll certainly be posting here.  However, for anything other major updates, please head over to kenyathompson.blogspot.com/.  That blogger account, and not only is the main blog for my web page, but also is connected to facebook, twitter, deviant art, and everything else short of birds and pear trees. It's a better one stop shop for all major things me and what's on my mind.

So, those of you have have accounts, please head that way and follow me.  Those of you that don't? Well, the place is pretty homely and awesome, so you should totally head that way also and join the fun.

The Game Designers Are NOT Pleased

So, thanks to some friends of mine I woke up to

Yeah. Any self-respecting game designer I think should NEVER do such a thing. It just hurts more because it's one of my favorite games.

I'm not entirely sure what anyone can do about this, but there is the fact that any sense ethics or resoncibility obviously went out the window.

Not that I like Kotaku as a news source but here:

No More 'Waiting for Godot'

I got a knock on the door this morning from a very cute Fedex driver, a rather bright and animated young gentleman, and he was holding a roughly 5" tall, 20" long, flat, rectangular box.

He apologized for waking me up so early, but also said that he wouldn't do it if it wasn't something good.

I looked at the box and grinned, thinking the thing couldn't have been a better thing if it were plated in gold, and I told him that it's fine, it's my computer and as a college student I desperately need it back.

Thanking the man after signing the little electronic pad thing, I took the box and ducked back inside.

Godot is back, and I'm stunned. Apple has outdone themselves.

Not just the graphics card problems, but they also fixed the top and bottom case as well as the keyboard. They even went so far as to clean the screen. <3

People wonder why I bother spending so much money on an apple computer? This is why. It's like the computer is brand new again. <3

Things are turning back around, and moving back towards normal. Whee!

Now.... back to work. :/

So, as they say, when it rains, it pours.  This past week has been no exception.

Saturday night I come back from a day of errands only to find out that my laptop, Godot, is seemingly dead after I'd put it into sleep mode.  I panicked, and thought it was the logic board again (for those windows users out there, that's the mother board.)

Sunday, I drove to the Mac Store in Charleston, SC.  After some tests they think that it was in fact the graphics card, not the logic board.  I breathed a sigh of relief and they shipped it of this morning to the Central Hub.

Thus, I should be without my computer for the rest of the week.

I'll update things when I can.

In the meantime, don't blow up the internet while I'm gone, guys!

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF...

So I'm back in Savannah, GA. I was going to spend a restful week until classes started, getting my stuff together....

Got my classes taken care of this morning, and everything paid for...

AND THEN I HAVE A CAR ACCIDENT!

And, apparently the girl is claiming it's my fault, and I ran the light. :/

And, of course, it's the same insurance company, so I dunno what's going to happen.

I'm fine, and my car's drivable. I'm just frustrated that all this happened AT THE BEGINNING OF THE QUARTER!!

GRAWL

Now, if you excuse me, I have my iced tea to finish drinking as I sulk.

In other news, I managed to running down my car battery act the accident. Got that replaced today so it's actually drivable.

At least there's forward movement, no pun intended.

ALSO: anyone interested; here's the pictures I took.

Pretty good for a camera phone, I'd say.

I've been working on my work like mad.  Friends of mine were interested so I've been streaming video of my working on my inking and maquette.

Anyone curious to watch me work, here:

Just be warned i may not talk much, but any questions I will happily try to answer. <3

I don't recall mentioning this previously but I did get Muraki. I've had him for a bit now and he's just a ball of cute :3c

Also Babylondonstar made another Godot plush and posted him on Ebay and I won him. He's sexy and sassy.

First two weeks of Spring quarter I was sick, which was not fun.

I am loving my Maquette class. Been working on my Alton Brown Maquette and really it's been a pleasure. So far if I ever had to pick something to do for the rest of my life, that would be it.

Here's Alton, btw: )
Funny how life sometimes run full circle, right?

Trying to drag my way through my comic pages. Geeze, I hate drawing pages SO much...

I'll get to it shortly... :/

There's also an artist alley at the end of the quarter; I have no clue just if I'll participate or not.

And so, yet another Spring Quarter...

...And hopefully my last.

My trip to Florida was awesome and I had an amazing time. It was sad to see all my friends while they were sick, but I still had a grand time. I have my Mickey Hat and new antenna bob, so all is right with the world.

The second day of classes has come and gone and I'm happy but scared. Extremely scared. I'm further realizing that yes, I'm soon graduating college and yes I will soon be in the real world.

I really have no clue where my life is going. I know where I want it to go. I just dunno how to get there.

Part of me wants to curl up and cry, another part wants to jump for joy.

Thus, I have settled for just worrying.

I like my classes this quarter, but it'll be a lot of work just the same.

....Finals @_@

Finals. BLARG!

less than 2 weeks left, and it's MAJOR crunch time. Process book, Comic Pages, scripts, and Storyboards! OH MY!!

On the bright side, this time next week, I'll be in Flordia hanging with my good friends Spazz, Checkm8, Woss and the rest.

I'll be so happy to do something spring break that ISN'T sitting at home alone!

Now, if you excuse me, time to return to Panic Mode...

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGH!!

Whoo-hoo!

And so, 2008 left with a bigger bang than it came.

Earlier today, I went to see The Spirit & Valkryie with my folks. The Spirit was much better than I thought it was going to be and I'm still laughing at a few scenes in particular. Though, asside from the mask, I have his entire costume in my closet already. LOL. I might wear him at some point. *shrugs* Valkyrie was amazing. I am by no means a Tom Cruise fan, but the movie was very touching. Of course you know the outcome but you whole the whole time that everything works as it should. The end is very, very touching. Hell, the whole damn movie is quite the tear jerker.

After the movie, I spent the evening hanging with my friend Chris, and we partied like it was 1999. Various Wii games were too be had. Twas awesome sauce.

. . . School starts Monday, and I wish the week would move slower.

Anyway...

. . . Hello 2009. Make yourself at home. We're all expecting some big things this year.

Let's get the good times rolling.

So. Finally Got around to watching some of the biggest movies of the summer:

- Iron Man
- Dark Knight
- Hellboy 2

I have to say, awesome awesome awesome.

I wanna cosplay as Tony (because despite the fact I know I could make an Iron Man costume, I'd rather just walk around with a sexy suit, glowy chest piece, and a glass of not actually brandy.

Also: I'd love to cosplay somebody from Hellboy 2 but I dunno who. BLARG @_@

WHY DOES THIS ALWAYS HAPPEN?!111

Edit: I wrote this in a response to someone, and I figured I might as well add it to the main entry.
Warning: Incoming wall of text...

In the past couple days, I've been giving the whole deal some thought anyway...

I've got a group of friends doing a Hellboy group that I believe is slated for DragonCon. Of the summer cons, I believe that's the only one I could possibly go to. Most of them have also already picked characters.

Overall, Makeup work isn't a huge problem for me. I know a lot about stage makeup, and I've done a fair amount before. It's just a matter of what's practical at a con and doesn't take hours to get done and only requires a minimal amount of help. I'm better at sewing than I am with prop work.

Liz I would probably skip over because I look NOTHING like her and she's not the most prominent looking of the characters.

Hellboy, as awesome as that would be, no. Just no. He's /WAY/ too fucking much work. The fist I'd probably do in some sort of foam and carve it out. if I can find large blocks of craft foam, I'd probably use that since it'd be fairly sturdy and soft, but still, the head would be a SHIT ton of work. The topknot and the bald spot are not things I wanna work on either.

Abe is a long time favorite of mine, but, also, I haven't done a ton of latex work before and I'm not exactly in the mood to do a bald cap again any time soon. Plus, if I did his tactical suit, that's a hell of a lot of prop work that I don't wanna do.

Krauss.... I don't even wanna get started on him. That outfit scares me with the idea of making it. Plus, one of my friends as already planned to cosplay as him.

The twins are pretty neat, but also both of them, also, have been picked already. Though, admittedly, I liked the Prince way more than the Princess. He was a way more interesting character.

The character I'm actually considering is Kroenen. If I make the uniformed version, I know it's possible to order those. Of course, lol, Nazi uniform. My mother would kill me. Also, the only 'hard' parts would be the mask and leather coat. However, I'd want the mask because of the fact that, well, I'd be wearing a Nazi uniform.

I should probably read the BPRD comic also anyway, it's just a matter of doing so. I've got a list a mile long of things I wanna read, and it's on there.

Merry Christmas

<3

Just got through with the present opening business. 'Santa' brought pretty much everything I asked for...

Gifts include:
Nerf brand driving wheel
No More Heros (Wii)
Resident Evil 4 (Wii)
Okami (Wii)
Metal Gear: Twin Snakes (GCN)
Metal Gear Solid 2 (PS2)
Kirby Super Star Ultra (DS)
1 Small can of Baer Paint (for my apartment in Savannah)
Limited Edition Star Wars Animated Darth Maul Maquette (my favorite gift by far, and I was completely blindsided by it too.)

Stocking Stuffers: Cutting mats, paint stirrers, mini paint smock, mini screwdriver, cross level, paint can opener, batteries, hair ties, cup holders for my car.

I got more out of seeing the folks I got gifts for enjoy their stuff than my own. I would of much preferred to see that more individuals had finished their stuff for TF2 Chan's Secret Santa.

I guess I'm off to bed then. I'm cold and sleepy =_=

Went by my old high school today. I'd only gone to drop off something for my brother, and it was rather weird.

It's only been around 5 years now since I graduated, and I expected when I rounded the corner into the main building, in all the rain and cold, to see all my friends sitting there, waiting for me to have lunch.

I couldn't help but laugh, I even felt a bit choked up.

And it was at this time I could say that overall, High School was one of the happiest times in my life.

I miss all my friends, you're all awesome.

<3

Oh, it's the 8th again...

So happy birthday to me. *shrugs* Another year older, another year fatter, another year single. :/

The extent of my day: Paid bills and car towed. Whoo =_=

I heard yesterday a friend's cat died. I feel very bad for him. I'm not at all good at knowing how to do at these things so I just send lots of love since I know thing time for him isn't an easy one. Though I hear he's thinking of getting a kitten which I'm sure'll be a joy.

*sighs* :/

So. About that thar update...

  • Nov. 28th, 2008 at 10:52 PM

Yeah. I haven't posted jack shit in ages.

Last I said anything I had mono

Life has moved on. Another quarter has ended. Turkey day has come and gone.

I failed 2 classes, and I failed the possible relationship I was working on.

blarg.

The drive up to NC was a real laugh. Sure was cops on the drive. I saw I think 5 people pulled over at least.

Yay. I need to pay bills and such and then I can get Muraki. Yay :3

Oh a happier note, been loving Team Fortress 2. Plan to make costumes for my boys over the break.

HAIL THE CONQUERING HERO!!!~

So, everybody knows that being sick during the summer blows. I certainly know it because I'm sick. Went to the doctor again, and lo and behold I was beside myself - Mono.

I have no clue how I got it, save from possibly someone at the bowling alley.

Well, things should perk up by the time Otakon rolls around. Just, suckage.

On the bright side, I'm feeling hungry again.

*goes to finish baked potato*

So, I've gotten in the habit of catching How it's Made on Friday nights on the Science Channel. I LOVE the commercials. It reminds me of medic for some reason...

This is the character that is in all the commercials.

More about Space Week.

The "it takes a genius" commercial.

And, my favorite "it is rocket science" commercial.
